Pricing depends on the size of the area, the condition of the existing surface, and the stone blend you choose. Most residential driveways fall between $150-$200 per square metre (installed). We provide free on-site quotes with a detailed written breakdown - no hidden costs, no surprises. Contact us for a free quote.

Common Questions
Category 1: Pricing & Value
The upfront cost is comparable to high-end exposed aggregate and typically higher than plain concrete. However, resin-bound requires no resealing, no weed treatment, and no demolition of your existing surface - so the total cost of ownership over 10-15 years is often lower. It also adds more to your property's kerb appeal and resale value than a standard concrete pour.
We can discuss flexible payment arrangements for larger projects. Contact us to talk through your options - we'll work with you to find a structure that suits your budget.
Category 2: Installation & Process
Yes - this is one of the biggest advantages. Resin-bound is applied directly over your existing concrete, asphalt, or paving, as long as the surface is structurally sound. No demolition, no skip bins, no weeks of disruption. We assess your existing surface during the free site visit and include any preparation work in the quote.
Most residential projects are completed in 1-3 days depending on the size and complexity. A standard driveway is typically finished in 1-2 days. You can usually walk on the surface within 12-24 hours and drive on it within 24-48 hours.
Minimal. There's no heavy machinery, no jackhammering, and no excavation. The process involves preparing the existing surface, mixing the resin and stone on-site, and hand-trowelling it into place. It's quiet compared to a concrete pour and we leave the site clean at the end of each day.
Resin-bound surfacing cannot be installed in rain or when rain is expected within the curing window. We monitor weather forecasts closely and will reschedule if conditions are not suitable - we'd rather delay by a day than compromise the result. Adelaide's dry climate means weather delays are uncommon.
Not for the entire duration, but we do need access to the work area and ideally to a water and power supply. We'll coordinate access arrangements with you before the project starts. Most homeowners check in at the start and end of each day.
Category 3: Durability & Performance
A properly installed resin-bound surface has a lifespan of 15-25+ years depending on use and maintenance. We use UV-stable systems and proven installation methods designed for long-term performance under normal use.
Resin-bound surfacing has a degree of flexibility that rigid surfaces like concrete do not, which makes it more resistant to cracking from minor ground movement. However, if the existing substrate beneath has significant structural issues (major cracks, tree root damage, subsidence), those can affect the overlay. We assess this during the site visit and address any substrate concerns before installation.
The resin we use is UV-stable and specifically formulated for high-heat environments. It will not soften, discolour, or degrade under Adelaide's summer temperatures. The natural stone aggregate also stays cooler underfoot than dark-coloured concrete or bitumen - particularly important for pool surrounds and barefoot areas.
The UV-stable resin system resists yellowing and degradation. Because the colour comes from the natural stone aggregate (not a surface coating or dye), it does not fade the way painted or sealed surfaces do. Some extremely subtle weathering over many years is normal for any outdoor surface, but the colour integrity holds well long-term.
Yes. Standard residential installations are designed for regular passenger vehicles, including SUVs and utes. For driveways that need to support heavier loads (delivery trucks, caravans, boats), we specify a commercial-grade system with a thicker profile. Let us know your expected use during the quoting process and we'll recommend the right specification.
No - resin-bound surfacing is naturally slip-resistant. The textured surface of the exposed stone aggregate provides excellent grip, even when wet. It also drains water through the surface rather than letting it pool, which eliminates the standing water that makes other surfaces hazardous. This makes it particularly suited to pool surrounds and sloped driveways.
Localised damage (from a dropped tool, vehicle scrape, or third-party work) can be patch-repaired without replacing the entire surface. We cut out the affected area and seamlessly blend new material in. The repair is virtually undetectable once cured. Contact us and we'll assess the damage and provide a repair quote.
Category 4: Maintenance & Cleaning
Very little maintenance is required. Regular sweeping or hosing down to remove leaves and debris is usually enough. For a deeper clean, a gentle pressure wash on a low setting works well. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners and high-pressure washers aimed directly at the surface. We provide detailed care instructions at handover.
No. Unlike pavers or gravel, resin-bound surfacing is a seamless, joint-free system - there are no gaps for weeds to take root in. Occasional airborne seeds may settle on the surface but cannot penetrate it; a quick sweep or hose removes them. This is one of the key long-term maintenance advantages over pavers and exposed aggregate.
Light oil drips from a parked car will not damage the surface if cleaned up within a reasonable time. For heavier spills (a major oil leak or fuel spill), clean it up promptly with a mild detergent and water. Prolonged exposure to solvents or petroleum-based chemicals can affect the resin if left untreated, but normal vehicle use is not an issue.
Category 5: Design & Customisation
Over 50 natural stone colours and blends are available, ranging from warm honey golds and sandy creams through to cool greys, charcoals, and mixed earth tones. We bring physical stone samples to your site visit so you can see and feel the actual aggregates against your home - screens do not capture the true colour and texture of natural stone.
Yes. We offer contrasting borders, inlaid patterns, stencilled logos, house numbers, and bespoke colour blends. Custom work is hand-crafted on-site and can be applied to driveways, patios, entrances, and commercial spaces. Visit our Custom Designs & Detailing page for examples, or share your ideas during the site visit.
Yes - try our AI Visualiser tool. Upload a photo of your driveway, patio, or pool area and see an approximate preview of how different stone blends would look on your actual property. It is a guide, not an exact representation, but it helps you narrow down your choices before the site visit. You can also view completed projects in our Gallery.
Category 6: Council, Compliance & Regulations
In most cases, no. Resurfacing an existing driveway with a resin-bound overlay is generally classified as maintenance or repair work, not new construction, and does not require development approval in South Australia. However, if your property is heritage-listed, in a character zone, or if the resurfacing significantly changes the existing drainage or driveway layout, you should check with your local council. We can advise during the site visit.
Yes. Resin-bound surfacing is fully permeable - rainwater drains directly through the surface and into the ground below, rather than running off into stormwater drains. This aligns with South Australian stormwater management requirements and is increasingly preferred by councils for new developments and renovations. It is one of the few surface options that genuinely reduces stormwater runoff.
