In many cases, yes—provided the existing base is stable enough for an overlay. Across Adelaide, Gorilla Surfaces provides resin-bound driveway resurfacing over suitable concrete and asphalt surfaces. Stable pavers may also qualify, but need to be assessed individually.
We check for movement, cracks or sinking, together with the driveway's levels, drainage, edges, thresholds and expected vehicle use. These details determine whether resurfacing is suitable and what preparation the new finish will need.
Where the base qualifies, it stays in place and receives a new resin-bound aggregate finish without full driveway replacement. This service is for existing hard surfaces; areas that still need a structural base require a different solution. Ongoing movement, lifting or sinking sections, unstable cracking, inadequate support, unsuitable levels or drainage, and sites that still need a new structural base can rule resurfacing out. Gorilla Surfaces does not construct new bases for dirt sites or new builds.

The resin-bound surface layer is porous, but complete driveway drainage depends on the existing base, falls, outlets and site design. An overlay over ordinary concrete is not a fully permeable system.
No. In a resin-bound system, dried aggregate is mixed with resin before installation, so the stone is bound throughout the layer. Resin-bonded surfacing uses a different method. Gorilla Surfaces installs resin-bound resurfacing, not resin-bonded systems or DIY materials.
For a qualifying stable base, Gorilla Surfaces normally specifies an 18 mm resin-bound layer for a standard residential driveway. The final specification also considers vehicle loading, preparation, edges and site conditions, and is confirmed in the written quote.
